How it all started...
Growing up as a designer I always appreciated design. I especially loved contemporary design, but always had a vintage soul. I also loved giving personal & unique gifts to friends and family. While in the military stationed at New Orleans I started making jewelry and giving them as gifts. Shortly after getting out of the military I was scouted to showcase my photography and coincidentally enough it was back in New Orleans. I decided to add some of my handcrafted items to the table and it was received well. That was when I decided to take it more seriously. So I launched an Etsy store under a different name. As time went on, I split into 2 jewelry lines and re-branded into higher end pieces which is the KAZARU you know today! I am also a world traveler and love to travel in style without all the clutter. That is how the transitional pieces were born! You can pack less accessories, but have max usage by being able to wear a piece 2, 3 or even 4 ways. I am involved in every step of the design process from sketch, conception, photography & marketing. My vision & passion goes into every handcrafted piece.
I design jewelry because it is a visual representation of your inner feelings & style. When you look good, you feel good and as women we love to embellish ourselves. When I create a piece and someone identifies with it, they now can represent themselves visually to the world. Maybe they weren't able to do so before and utilizing my skills & vision I was able to help someone communicate. I believe in empowering each other. Whether it be through art, music or positive interaction, creating jewelry has a deeper meaning for me.
